Job Title: Special Corpsmember: Corpsmember Development Assistant:
Specific Duties
30% Counsel & Mentor Corpsmembers
Promote positive relationships with and between Corpsmembers to assist them in resolving personal and interpersonal issues. Intervene with Corpsmembers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Share concerns about, and accomplishments of, Corpsmembers with supervisor. Make counseling referrals as appropriate. Promote positive lifestyle by supporting community Corpsmember Advisory Board (CAB), leadership Corpsmembers and recreational/volunteer events. Monitor vehicles for cleanliness; follow up with drivers as needed. Set a good example for Corpsmembers.
30% Ensure Center Health & Safety
Monitor and ensure the health and safety of Corpsmembers on facility. Make regular security checks (facility checks to include exterior areas), enforce Center Rules. Monitor Center cleanliness, document concerns in Log Book, direct Corpsmembers in keeping facility clean. Record events of shift in, and safeguard contents of, Log Book. Monitor meal times to ensure a pleasant and orderly dining experience. Complete documentation of incidents on Incident Reports, Witness Statements, Minor Injury Reports, and other appropriate forms. Ensure Corpsmembers have an opportunity to review and sign the report before submittal to chain of command. Answer all calls that come into the Center and direct messages accordingly. Maintain clean office area, turn off excess electricity and water.
30% Support Corpsmember Development Program
Organize and monitor on-center classes for Corpsmembers. Record activity hours on tracking sheets; ensure tracking sheets are turned in on a daily basis. Support evening education and recreation staff when needed. Monitor classes as needed. Deliver Corpsmember mail. Participate in on-going training's as requested. Assist in physical training and/or morning cleaning duties of Corpsmembers.
10% Support Center Staff/Special Projects
Assist other departments in special project work when approved by supervisor, work with other departments to obtain supplies using proper procedures, address center maintenance concerns using current procedures
