Job description
In this role, typical duties include: Assisting AR reliability and system safety engineers with ensuring technical excellence of group's products. This includes adequacy of the tools, techniques, and processes. 2. Developing reliability and safety models for various systems and communicate results to company engineers and managers. 3. Completing failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis and hazard analysis. 4. Complete system safety hazard analysis. 5. Evaluating engineering designs and operational plans to identify potential hazards and evaluate the adequacy of planned controls and verifications. 6. Providing design input to improve product reliability and safety when necessary - Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results 7. Designing reliability test plans to qualify new product and processes, evaluate testing failures and ensure consistent adherence to high quality standards by application of reliability techniques. Emphasis of reliability and system safety engineering on nuclear hardening and survivability (NH&S) compliance. Verification to MIL-STD-1766 guidelines using Nuclear Environments and Effects Hardware Element Matrix (NEEHEM) and Hardness Critical Items (HCI) development. Incorporating HCI data into drawings, and documenting a Design Analysis Report (DAR) with finalized NEEHEM and HCI information.

45% - Develop reliability and safety models/analyses for various systems and communicate results to company engineers and managers. This includes FMECAs (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses), reliability predictions, subsystem hazard analyses, and range safety assessments.
20% - Perform technical review of reliability and systems safety analysis products, including failure modes effects and criticality analysis and hazard analysis.
10% - Provide design input to improve product reliability and product safety when necessary; interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results.
10% - Design reliability and/or system safety test plans to qualify new product and processes. Evaluate testing failures and ensure consistent adherence to high quality standards by application of reliability techniques.
5% - Drive program compliance to Reliability and System Safety procedures and standard work.
5% - Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments.
5% - Lead failure investigations related to product anomalies.
Will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
Pay range for this position:: 120,500 - 177,166 per year Note about pay range:: Pay range for this job level is a general guideline only for California and/or Washington State and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
