A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The IT System Admin Specialist will be part of a team that is responsible for administration, analysis and support activities primarily for our Detroit, MI and Chelsea, MI sites. This includes Microsoft Active Directory, identity & access management, windows server and desktop operating systems, DNS/DHCP systems, file/print management systems, messaging and telephone systems, systems monitoring/management, and other technologies.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Investigate user problems, identify their sources, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, operation and on-going maintenance of the technical environment.
  • Take ownership of problem management and prioritize remediation of issues according to business needs.
  • Work with end-users to advise and assist with IT issues in the customer environment.
  • Work with vendors on the implementation for on-premises installations of software.
  • Participate in after-hours support for the production environment, including on-call support. This will include supporting upgrades or troubleshooting activities that must take place outside business hours.
  • Provide direct support in daily network and systems operations including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Set up test environments, advising on impacts to the application of patches, updates, security vulnerabilities, etc.
  • Provide technical support and coordination with technical support to assist with troubleshooting and work to solve technical and operational problems.
  • Document issues and resolutions for future reference.
  • Maintain Office 365 functionality including Exchange, SharePoint, PowerBI and Teams.
  • Handle escalations from Tier 1 support.
  • Provide user training and support internal applications.
  • Maintain workstations, printers, and networks across multiple locations.
  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot all other computer related systems, devices and equipment.
  • Maintain and review security policies.
  • Remain abreast of computer technology and trends and inform supervisor of potential improvements in the system.
  • Travel occasionally to all Orchid locations as necessary and work outside of regular hours as required.
  • Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Completes all required training.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Required)
  • Associates of Science (A.S) (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ Years of related experience (Required)
