Job description
This position will perform chemical, mechanical and metallurgical testing to calculate furnace additions.
- Calculate charges.
- Run chemistries.
- Calculate additions.
- Pull tensile bars.
- Manage movement of tensile bars through the foundry.
- Produce test reports.
- Maintain spectrometer as well as LECO analyzers by dis-assembling and cleaning.
- Prepare metallurgical samples.
- Process samples for outside labs.
Basic Math (Decimals, fractions); Basic Reading (Interpret and follow procedures); Basic Writing (work instructions, process writing) Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, SPC) Time management and organizational skills. General knowledge of the foundry.
