Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Supervisor: Director of Therapy Services

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full-Time


Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Master’s degree program accredited in Speech Pathology, Required
  • SLP licensure through Missouri Board of Healing Arts
  • CCC-SLP or CF-SLP
  • Licensed in the state of Missouri by the Missouri Board of Healing Arts, completion or in process of completion of certificate of clinical competency
  • Willingness to work with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings

Job Descriptions/Essential Functions

  • Evaluate, develop and implement plan of care for the rehabilitation/habilitation of patients with communication and/or swallowing deficits, as directed by a physician, using approved treatment procedures
  • Provides patient/family education, participates in family conferences· Is responsible for all necessary documentation as required by accepted medical and educational guidelines
  • Provide school-based therapy to students per their IEP· Provide direct therapy services to students ranging from grades K-12
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation; hours worked, student attendance, session data, progress notes, IEP input, etc
  • Coordinate with teachers and school support staff for scheduling, carrying out IEP goals, progress towards goals, etc
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills (verbal, written, and computerized) with the health care team through: documenting, reporting & interacting
  • Demonstrates professionalism by: articulating and demonstrating professional behavior, accepting responsibility/accountability for actions, adhering to departmental/ hospital policies and procedures, and applying and maintaining nursing practice
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the facility
  • Follow time, attendance policies, and procedures
  • Working knowledge of computerized medical record and other computerized applications and systems
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, proficient with multi-tasking
  • Customer service-oriented attitude and behavior with a pleasant, poised demeanor.
  • Embraces and participates in teamwork-oriented environment
  • Follows all Harrison County Community Hospital District and departmental policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned
