Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the speech and language pathologist (SLP) provides prevention, assessment, and remediation services for individuals who exhibit difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice, and fluency. This position includes the implementation of speech and language assessment and both individual and group intervention (to include pragmatic language and social skills groups) for participants across the lifespan and their families. The SLP will work collaboratively with the program team to assess and treat individuals seeking services from the The Arc of the Ozarks, TheraCarand Mercy Autism Clinic, currently located in Branson, in addition to school-based settings. This is a salaried, exempt position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

All duties will be performed across foundation programs at The Arc of the Ozark including recreational activities, early intervention, speech and language therapy, behavior therapy and adult services.

• Duties include but are not limited to:
• Administer speech and language screenings/ assessments/evaluations
• Develop & implement speech and language treatment goals and objectives
• Determine Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs, strategies and systems for each individual client Integrate AAC strategies and systems into screenings, assessments, and treatment programs as applicable
• Integrate evidence-based practices for autism spectrum disorder into all clinical practices
• Collect data on speech and language goals and objectives
• Generate clinical SOAP notes and maintain therapeutic records
• Create necessary materials to support a variety of communicative needs

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS

A master degree in speech pathology is required as well as Speech Language Therapist Licensure by the MO Department of Public Health.
