Job Responsibilities:

  • Submits accurate and timely charter superbills on a daily basis according to UCP guidelines.
  • Submits accurate and timely tracking logs on a weekly basis according to UCP guidelines.
  • Provides and monitors client coverage and turn in revised schedules on a weekly basis. This requires achieving monthly and annual productivity goals based on existing caseload.
  • Ensures compliance of UCP Confidentiality and FERPA procedures for all student files and information on therapist caseload.
  • Report accountability data according to agency guidelines. 75% of the therapist caseload should achieve 75% of their individual goals per year
  • Self-Identifies, verbally and/or in writing, as SLPA to families, students, staff, and colleagues.
  • Assists the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation.
  • Assists the SLP during assessment of students exclusive of administration and/or interpretation.
  • Follows documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Collects data on student achievement for the purpose of documenting activities, preparing reports and/or updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Documents student performance (i.e., tallying data for the SLP to use; preparing charts, records, and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLP on a timely basis.
  • Programs and provides instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices as instructed by the SLP.
  • Adapts educational materials and equipment for the purpose of providing and/or meeting the individual student’s needs, as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Assists the supervising SLP in facilitating meetings/communications between therapist, site staff, parents, etc. for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding students’ goals.
  • Consults with speech/language pathologist, teachers, etc. for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Active SLPA license from the Florida Department of Health Florida Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology

Preferred Experience:

  • 1-year experience preferred in a pediatric population in an interdisciplinary setting (prefer a school setting)
