Able Composites is seeking a skilled Gel Coat Sprayer for 1st shift production This position requires assembling and maintaining the gelcoat gun. Requires performing GEL tests (requires weighing and charting). This application is done utilizing various pistol grip type spray guns, hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers, utility knives, spray pump systems, protective equipment such as coverall Tyvek suits, head socks, rubber gloves, air supplied spray hoods or respirators, and safety glasses with sides shields

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining gel coat gun.

• Applies gel coat to molds with specification, according to production schedule, ensuring color, finish and thicknesses are adhered to.

• Cleans gel coat gun and related equipment to ensure it operates as required

• Moves molds into and out of gel coat booths.

• Tools and Equipment: Gel coat gun, wrenches, and release agents.

• Protective equipment such as: rubber gloves, boots, respirator, coverall suits, and safety glasses.

• Apply gel coat to fiberglass molds within tolerance limits.

• Able to work overhead, stoop, bend, and push/pull molds.

• Familiarity with solvents, gel coats and release agents.

• Ability to properly operate a gel coat gun.

• Keep work area safe, clean, and hazard free.

• Push and or pull molds into and out of gel coat booths.

• Knowledge and experience in the preparation, evaluation, and application of coating systems

• Reliable transportation, and good attendance are essential and required

• Must follow all safety standards and procedures; including chemical handling standards and Personal Protective Equipment

• Must adhere to all quality standards and adhere to new standards as processes evolve

• Solid understanding of gel coats and application techniques a plus!

• Painting, Coating & Spraying Machine Operators: 1 year (Preferred)
