Job Overview

The Export Coordinator will support our air export transportation by leveraging DB Schenker’s partner relationships as well as their own unique problem solving and analytical skills to assist our customers. This position requires regular and direct interfacing with DB Schenker’s clients and suppliers to ensure a high level of performance in the movement of goods through the supply chain, from start to finish. The Export Coordinator must possess an inquisitive mindset to investigate and resolve problem shipments and other aspects of freight management, whether they be air, land sea as necessary.

What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

• Responsible for ensuring legal compliance and providing export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments.
• Provide customer support at the desk level to all internal and external customers, vendors, suppliers, agents and government agencies to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment.
• Receive, review and process high-volume and/or complex import and export transactions for clients, including booking, billing, classifications, processing data through the Company’s system and obtaining consular releases as well as other government agency releases as appropriate
• Ensure proper handling of AOG shipments from pick up to deliver and continuous information flow between shipper, consignee, customer and Schenker network.
• Select carrier to be used for shipment and prepare documents for carrier.
• Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations, communicating changes in domestic and foreign regulation procedures to client, co-workers and third parties in a clear, concise and timely manner.

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)

• 3-6+ experience in Air Export logistics or Freight Forwarding (will consider experience in Air Import, Ocean Import/Export experience as well)
• Three years of experience in a role involving extensive client contact
• High school diploma of equivalent required
• Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards
• Familiarity with domestic and international geography including countries and major cities
