As a Sr. Marketing Manager you will support the Sitework System’s division by developing, implementing, and managing long-range and annual marketing plans, programs and strategies to help grow the Specialty Construction business. Scope of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, customer segmentation, identifying new markets, brand ambassador, managing industry and association agreements and relationships, conducting customer and industry research, analysis and reporting, serving as the customer expert/advocate within Toro, managing customer relationship events with sales, successfully launching new products to the market, achieve annual plan objectives with regard to sales, profit and asset management.
What Will You Do?
Work cross-functionally with product management, parts, sales, service and finance to develop, present and execute both short-term and long-term marketing and business plans.
Collaborate with product marketing, marketing communications, sales, customer care and channel partners on all major events for the construction business, including industry events, trade shows, business meetings, customer events and more.
Build and manage relationships/agreements with key industry associations and influencers.
Conduct research and voice of customer activities to fully understand trends, needs, challenges and issues facing specialty construction customers, rental customers, national accounts, landscape contractors, construction contractors, and indoor construction contractors.
Help identify, prioritize and win support for new customer categories, based on quantified market opportunities, in partnership with product marketing and sales.
Successfully launch new products in collaboration with product marketing and marketing communications.
Collaborate with marketing communications to execute an effective communication strategy for the specialty construction business, including website, print, digital, public relations, collateral, etc.
Oversee the development, maintenance and utilization of Toro’s CRM database to effectively understand and efficiently reach our customer base.
Monitor, analyze and report on competitive activity, industry information and market share.
Create targeted campaigns and programs with dealers and rental customers to grow share of mind and expand share of market with end users.
What Do You Need?
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline 10+ years of marketing experience. Or MBA w/ 7+ years of experience.
Successful track record in market and/or product management
Experience developing short and long-term marketing or business plans.
Experience conducting voice of customer research, managing customer relationships and developing marketing communication plans.
Business to business experience through a dealer / distributor system is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, influencing effective participation in cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to understand and identify new markets, segments and customer needs.
Strong analytical skills
Strong relationship building skills with key industry entities and channel partners.
Knowledge of the construction business a plus
Travel requirement: 20-25%
