Summary:
This position is to support FET next generation hydraulic fracturing product offerings. The primary responsibilities for this role is performing mechanical design, modeling and drafting activities at the subsystem, assembly, and component/weldment level; creating and modifying detailed design drawings and related specifications of mechanical equipment. Under general supervision of product line engineers, performs a variety of drafting duties including modeling of new component parts, creation of new manufacturing and assembly drawings. Performs non-routine to complex tasks having distinctive design features that can differ significantly from established drafting precedents. Handles other special projects, as assigned by supervisor.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with engineering to create and refine concept designs into detailed designs to support the design and development efforts for the next generation hydraulic fracturing product team.
- Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of structural, machine, and subassemblies, including but not limited to specifications of moving parts and material properties.
- Develops and drives innovative solutions from concept to production. Identify design faults and suggest alternatives.
- Self-Starter, Works with minimal supervision. Working in a team environment to define and analyze requirements to implement design solutions.
- Modifies machine or structural designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts.
- Perform design evaluations and arrangement studies on engineering solutions considering DFM/A
- Produce engineering drawings for the manufacturing of components, fabricated parts and assemblies.
- Prepare and present designs and system arrangements at various design reviews
- Produce other required technical design documentation and maintain design database of parts and assemblies.
- Serves as a checker for engineering drawings and designs based on industry standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 5-10% as needed.
- Keep management apprised of work and backlog
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Knowledge
- Expert level knowledge of CAD software (Solidworks) required
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required
- Must be able to read and create manufacturing drawings required
- Knowledge of hydraulics systems and associated electronics is a plus
- Knowledge of hydraulic fracturing equipment such as high pressure pumps, usage and processes is a plus
Education
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college, technical school or equivalent education and experience.
Experience
- Min 5 years experience in design, modeling, and drafting using SolidWorks for developing mechanical, structural (weldment) and system designs.
- Knowledge of CAD standards and file configuration standards.
- Thorough knowledge of CAD techniques and principles.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics to aid in design and modeling fit requirements of tube, hose, and connections
- Proficient in Word, Excel
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
