Senior Pension Administration Client Service Leader - Winston Salem, NCAon is looking for a Sr. Pension Administration Client Service Leader. The Pension Administration Practice currently has openings for experienced a Sr. Pension Administration Client Service Leader in multiple locations. We are seeking experienced Pension Administration professionals to join this rapidly expanding practice to direct new and existing client activities in our Lincolnshire, IL, Atlanta, GA, The Woodlands, TX, Norwalk, CT, Winston Salem, NC, Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, and Irvine, CA locations. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by leading the delivery of pension administration services to our clients.
The target salary range for this position is $88,500 to $118,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both from home and your aligned office.

As a Pension Administration Client Service Leader, the qualified candidate will be a leader on the team that provides defined benefit administrative services to over 300 clients using proprietary software. Day-to-day management of a specific client or clients, assisting with implementations, managing special projects, delegating work among colleagues within a project, and acting as a mentor and role model are key responsibilities. Acts as a resource for other project managers using expert knowledge of plan provisions, legislation and complex DB issues; creates and maintains own clients’ plan requirements and acts as a resource for other project managers requirements development
Understands clients’ unique business and consults effectively with clients regarding legislative changes, administrative decisions, and requirements
Detailed understanding of clients’ data
Thorough understanding of DBCalc system
Uses thorough understanding of clients’ business environment, pension plan provisions, data, and DBCalc system to train and coach specialists and analysts
Accurately completes most challenging calculations using plan document, technical resources and client assistance and appropriately documents unusual situations
Performs both first and second checks of calculations
Understands principles of testing, including test planning, execution, and regression testing tool; ensures that each client has appropriate regression test in place Project Planning and Client Team Management
Monitors all client work including frequent review of outstanding participant issues in CalcsLog, quality of participant service (call listening), ensuring that team is available as expected to answer participant calls, reviewing monthly reconciliation, and auditing teams’ adherence to standard process and procedures
Promotes a productive team environment and helps keep the team focused on a common goal; ensure that the work is evenly distributed among team members and there is cross-training on projects
Maintains project plan for each client and communicates plan regularly to client and team
Effectively summarizes special projects and resource needs to location lead and fellow project managers
Works with fellow project managers to help manage resources
Assesses work effort required for projects and manages temporary spikes in teams’ work loads through a high level understanding of special client projects within the region and skill level of each team member
Ensures quality and timeliness of all client work Client Relationships and Communication
Understands clients business and HR goals and incorporates these into consulting
Develops and maintains trusted partner relationship with client contacts
Consults with client (or other third parties) regarding technical concerns, project status, participant issues, and knows when to bring in other technical resources
Prepares for and leads client and internal team meetings
Meets regularly with internal client teams to communicate project plans
Provides clear and concise documentation to clients that is timely and appropriate
Displays confidence when consulting with a client
Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with client contacts
Listens attentively in conversations and formulates and asks effective questions
Shares information effectively through clear and succinct written and oral communication
Keeps others informed as necessary
Presents own view with conviction and takes other viewpoints into account

Applies advanced participant services skills when taking manager calls
Detailed understanding of delivery model, base event requirements and base communication statements
Creates and maintains documentation of team’s ongoing administrative procedures
Team resource for calculation checking, participant interactions, processing of payments and monthly reconciliation (may perform any of these tasks as appropriate)
Leads clients’ special projects, including project planning, client interaction, team management, and documentation
Effectively and timely documents outlining annual events, processes, and unique situations in client databases
Understands Excel and Access tools and uses these tools to improve quality and efficiency of client service
Strong command of DBCalc (including processing batch calculations), DBAdmin, YPR and CalcsLog
Ability to request and/or manipulate DBCalc and DBAdmin database queries
Thoroughly understands client’s dataload process
Works with systems analysts to ensure systems are maintained and updated (DBCalc, DBAdmin, CalcsLog, etc.) through the proper use of DBCalc Help Request forms You Bring Knowledge and Expertise:
Bachelor's degree
A minimum of 8 + years of experience working with pension, defined benefit plans/administration
Demonstrated project management, client consulting, and team management skills
Review of legal documentation/understand and communicate effectively any new rules/regulations to clients
Consulting background highly preferred
