Job Purpose
This Dana Sustainable Manufacturing Center, SMC, is located next to Dana’s World Headquarters in Maumee, Ohio. SMC manufactures E-Motors used in development of a variety of equipment and vehicles. The Quality Technician will support the plant processes as an advocate of the internal and external customers. This will be accomplished with direct support to the manufacturing operation along with support of engineering activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform incoming and in-process inspections of productive parts and assemblies.
- Perform line audits to verify compliance to safety, production processes and product inspections.
- Final audit inspections to verify outgoing product to customer.
- Inspection and review of non-conforming and reported scrap for dispositioning of products.
- Assist with analysis activities.
- Oversee gage control activities which includes tracking, calibration, gage qualifications and purchasing.
- Create documents which includes, but not limited to, work instructions and data collection forms.
- Assist plant quality as required.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Demonstrated strength of character to succeed in high pressure manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work in a highly visible environment. (Regular plant tours, company leadership presence (Dana and external companies)
- Must possess good organizational skills and be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Able to make fundamental mathematical calculations.
- Proven mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to perform duties without direct supervision.
- Proficient communication skills in the English language.
- Possess knowledge in the application of measurement equipment (gages and gaging systems).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to repeatably lift 35 pounds.
- Has normal vision acuity. Vision correction is acceptable (ie. Glasses / contacts). (CQI-15 Weld Assessment, requires vision acuity.)
