POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are small team, and we pride ourselves in getting timely and accurate financials to management without having to work late hours and never on the weekends. If you enjoyed learning accounting principles I & II and would love to sharpen your skills in transactional accounting, then this opportunity is calling your name. You will get hands-on experience in payroll processing, reviewing timecards, and issuing manual checks through accounts payable in Great Plains, which will advance your skills and prepare you for more challenges. This is a visible position as you will work hand in hand with the General Manager. Our ideal candidate should have a sense of urgency, sense of humor, pay attention to details, learn from mistakes, enjoy partnering with individuals across the company, and not mind the routine nature that comes with some accounting work.
This is a full-time position that supports operations, which must be done in person at minimum 4 days per week.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Biweekly and Weekly Payroll.
- Gather information on hours worked for each team member to ensure accurate time reporting.
- Ensure payroll data is accurately input into ADP Workforce Now.
- Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed.
- Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks.
- Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper.
- Process taxes and payment of employee benefits.
- Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors.
- Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.
- Obtains information from internal and external sources to record accounting transactions in the subledgers and general ledgers within Great Plains.
- Responsible for maintaining Coach Manager "CM" (point of sale system), by sending timely and accurate invoices as well as receiving payments and applying cash to customer accounts.
- Reviews payroll data before submittal into ADP.
- Records revenue into the general ledger after ensuring all invoices have been generated in CM.
Records monthly journal entries to account for change in inventory balances, amortization of prepaids, and month-end accruals. - Prepares quarterly statutory fillings such as IFTA reporting for the State of New Mexico, and 8849 filings with the IRS for fuel tax credits.
- Supports management in providing timely and accurate financial statements and monthly reports.
- Supports management in preparing schedules and roll forwards for monthly close activities and year-end financial statement audit.
- Assists with annual 1099 preparation and maintenance for all AAAHI companies.
- Ad hoc reporting and projects as determined by the Controller and General Manager.
COMPENSATION:
- Pay from $28 per/hour
- $2,000 sign-on bonus for FT employees
- Health Insurance (Eligibility 1st of the month after 30 days of employment)
- Medical - $59 per pay period for single coverage.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- 1 year of general accounting experience, preferred.
- Working experience with Great Plains general ledger and ADP, preferred.
- Highly motivated and team-oriented individual.
- Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent organizational skills.
