Altus Spine is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who is responsible for all financial aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (AP/AR). This position will also perform all activities necessary to process payroll. The Staff Accountant requires the highest level of organizational skill, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are crucial in order to maintain accurate financial records.

Essential Functions:
Accounts Receivable
- Prepares invoicing on a daily basis.
- Prepares RMA for returns and work with various departments to ensure agreement on adjustments such as quantity discrepancies.
- Issues credit memos if applicable.
- Creates/Maintains customer contacts in CRM within Global Shop.
- Records customer payments against the correct invoices.
- Follows up with customer to get missing details of payment.
- Records ACH and AMEX payments from customers, including bank fees and discounts associated with these transactions.
Accounts Payable
- Matches packing slips/receiving documentation (Global Shop audit trail) with vendor invoices. Ensure prices match purchase order. Investigate differences with Senior Buyer and or Receiving/Tooling Manager. This process is done on a daily basis.
- Vendor invoices are entered and paid in a timely manner, within agreed terms and as directed by the President. Most invoices should be received via email.
- Ensures vendors are aware of the correct email address to send their invoices.
- Follows up with vendors on purchases received and not yet invoiced (monitoring of Accruals account), with goal of 10 days or less from time of purchase receipt.
- Records monthly recurring payables, such as bank leases and intercompany rent.
- Enters Non-PO invoices through “administrative” function in Global Shop. These include monthly utilities and certain services. Records purchases made via credit card. All credit card purchases are made by the Senior Buyer and are pre-approved by the President.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's in business administration/Finance required, Accounting Degree preferred
- Three plus years in a Payroll position performing all payroll functions
- Microsoft Excel - advanced level
- Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
Skills and Competencies:
- Microsoft Excel - advanced level
- Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

- Experience in UltiPro (UKG) Payroll and Time and Labor platforms is a plus
