Job description
Perform the daily reconciliation of the Federal Reserve bank account, Federal Reserve deferred account, and Federal Home Loan Bank accounts and work with the Deposit Operations department, branch personnel, BPA personnel and wire room personnel to ensure reconciling items in these accounts are cleared in a timely manner.- Post daily journal entries for daily Federal Reserve account and Federal Home Loan Bank accounts.
- Compile information daily from the Federal Reserve account statement to determine the Bank’s end-of-day cash position and provide this information to individuals authorized to initiate borrowing transactions on behalf of the Company.
- Monitor and update the Bank’s bi-weekly Federal Reserve requirement.
- Review monthly Federal Reserve Bank service charge billing and prepare an analysis that summarizes the types of fees being charged from the Federal Reserve Bank.
- Complete the monthly proof and aging memo that summarizes the aging of each account’s reconciling items by obtaining balance sheet account reconciliations from various departments throughout the Company and ensuring that a reconciliation for each balance sheet general ledger account and cost center has been completed.
- Maintain a listing of all company cash accounts that includes the account name, account number, corresponding general ledger information and authorized check signors. Update authorized signors on an annual basis or as necessary.
- Maintain accounting department disaster recovery contact information listing.
- Prepare annual FDIC survey of deposits.
- Serve as backup for investment accounting desk.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
- A.A.S. degree in Accounting
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and database management
- Strong interpersonal relations and communication skills.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a professional level Accounting position.
