This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a small yet well-capitalized company, on the ground floor, and prepare for a significant, aggressive scale over the next 2-3 years.

We are now seeking an experienced staff accountant to join our growing team.

Staff Accountant Job Description:

  • Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and ensure all items within the AP aging is within 30 days or less.
  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
  • Assisting the asset servicing department as needed.
  • Deposit checks remotely and record information within the accounting system
  • Investigate incoming wires to ensure that they are accounted for correctly.
  • Manage petty cash within the accounting system.

Key Competencies

  • Technically proficient in accounting using GAAP standards
  • Excellent MS excel skills
  • Experience using accounting software
  • General understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable process
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to wear man hats, knowing a smaller company needs this during its growth phase
  • Deadline oriented - Sets and hits deadlines on all work and stays in communication to executives
  • Very analytical and intuitive to understand problems
  • Not driven by emotion, able to work with many personality types and is adaptable
  • Innovative from a technology and data perspective. able to recognize when a process is error prone and able to produce viable solutions to replace the existing process/procedure etc.
  • Self -Expressed and outspoken in teams

  • Communicate in detailed fashion leaving no one incomplete or unsure
  • Flexible, coachable, and adaptable when given constraints
  • Outstanding listener and take notes in all meetings to ensure nothing is missed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field, required.
  • At least three years of related accounting experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
