Overview:
Tyler Pipe & Coupling, a division of McWane Inc., is seeking a Staff Accountant to work at the Marshfield, MO location. The Staff Accountant will assist in the accounting functions of the plant as well as assist the Plant Controller. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile financial statements
- Review general ledger accounts
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts including cash accounts
- Responsible for assisting the Controller in month-end closing and preparing journal entries
- Process and review accounts payable
- Review purchase price variance
- Review Freight Expense and Track shipments leaving the facility
- Manage fixed assets
- Compile data and prepare a variety of reports as needed
- Investigate questionable data
- Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
- Other duties as assigned
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience will be considered
- 3-5 years accounting or business-related experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Understanding of Financial Statements, Journal Entries, and GAAP
