Staff Accountant Summary:

The purpose of the accountant role at Mickey Truck Bodies, Inc will be to ready and maintain financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.

Staff Accountant Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Post cash to account receivable
  • Prepare, review, and approve adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
  • Capital Expenditure project tracking, recording, and reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements and prepare various audit schedules
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting to support the company’s line of credit
  • Prepare monthly state sales tax returns via Avalara
  • Prepare schedules for tax audits (property, state, federal, FET, and sales tax)
  • Accumulate and assimilate information for yearly renewal of insurance policies
  • Assist Finance Manager on special projects, analyses, etc. as necessary
  • Assist Cost Accounting in taking physical inventories semi-annually
  • Assist A/R and A/P in researching and resolving problems

Staff Accountant Required Education, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (essential).
  • Proficient Excel (intermediate+ skill level), Word, and Power Point skills
  • Epicor or similar ERP experience
  • General Ledger Experience
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong logical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate clearly
  • Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and kneel
  • Specific vision ability required includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing work environment that has frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise intensity level, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to weather.
