Job description
CiTi BOCES is seeking a Staff Development Specialist to support Math and Science instruction. This individual will work collaboratively with the Director of Instructional Support Services to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs and professional development opportunities for the component districts and CiTi programs.
- Provide leadership in the field in the areas of professional development, program and service development, data collection and analysis, and program evaluation.
- Provide support in the integration of regional, state and national trends in education.
- Attend quarterly framework meetings in Albany in the areas of math and science.
- Be responsive to the needs of the component districts.
- Collect, analyze, share data relevant to your services and student achievement.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders, including districts and CiTi programs
Instructional/Professional Development:
- Work with component districts and CiTi programs to determine instructional and curricular needs.
- Facilitate professional learning and growth of our educational constituency.
- Schedule, facilitate and evaluate professional development delivered in a variety of formats.
- Integrate research based/best practices into professional development.
- Serve as a liaison between CiTi, component district and other relevant professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- New York State Teacher Certification.
- Five years’ experience in classroom teaching.
- SBL-School Building Leader or SDL-School District Leader preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates proficiency in good communication skills, effective instruction, and organization and management skills, effective use of technology to support communication, presentations and instruction.
Salary based on experience relative to the position.
