Staff Schedule/Claims Engineer

Delve Underground claims group has an opening for a Schedule and Claims Engineer based in our Walnut Creek office. The candidate will support our backlog of claims and scheduling assignments and assist with marketing our services to new clients. Ideal candidate will have 1-3 years construction experience working for a contractor, consultant, or owner on infrastructure or building projects. Some knowledge of Primavera P6 is required.

The candidate will provide construction scheduling support to various in-progress and new projects as well as analyze existing change order requests for merit review. The candidate will be tasked to review and provide comments to contractor's baseline schedules, periodic updates, as-built schedules, and time impact analyses related to change order requests for time extensions and claims. Furthermore, change order requests will be needed to be evaluated for merit and compliance with the contract documents.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of critical path method scheduling and familiarity with contract scheduling specifications and delay analysis techniques.
• General knowledge of the design and construction industry
• Familiarity with construction-related job records.
• Review and analyze construction documents for entitlement issues related to disputed work.
• Conduct and apply technical research regarding treatises and legal precedents.
• Ability to develop and present findings in graphical format. Develop and analyze schedules with Primavera P6.
• Generate graphics for Power Point presentations.
• Create spreadsheets and graphs using Microsoft excel analyzing cost, man-hour, and other data.
• Prepare reports presenting methodology and findings.

Qualifications:

• BS degree, or higher, in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 1-3 years' experience with P6 scheduling, cost control, and change management.
• Interest in construction claims.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
