POSITION: Staffing Coordinator
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: .75-1.0 FTE (60-80 hours per pay period)
WORK SCHEDULE: Days

JOB SUMMARY:
This position has responsibility for completion of the revenue cycle schedules and will work with revenue cycle leaders to manage daily staffing changes, monitor PTO and personnel leaves of absence.
JOB DUTIES:
A. Staffing
1. Effectively manages unanticipated schedule changes (LOAs, transfers, resignations, ill calls, etc.).
2. Reacts proactively to projected changing staffing needs using creative problem solving.
3. Accountable for schedule posting deadlines.
B. Scheduling
1. Prepares revenue cycle schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and contract terms.
2. Processes requests for time off working with revenue cycle leaders and makes schedule changes as needed.
3. Establishes and updates schedule templates.
C. Other
1. In collaboration with revenue cycle leadership identifies problems and implements improvements in the staff scheduling process.
2. Tracks overtime, tardiness, education and leaves of absences.
3. Tracks PTO requests and denials consistent with contract language.
4. Updates PTO calendars and communicates approved/denied PTO requests in collaboration with revenue cycle leaders.
5. Maintains personnel database to support metric monitoring including, but not limited to, time and attendance.
6. Prepares standard and requested reports.
7. Maintains scheduling, staffing records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associates degree in healthcare related field preferred.
2. Computer skills and knowledge required.
3. Proficient in Excel. Must pass basic Excel competency test.
4. Previous experience with union contracts and scheduling preferred.
5. Ability to learn and use Grand Itasca's time and attendance tracking software.
6. Demonstrated ability to apply complex union contract language in scheduling decisions.
7. Excellent communication and organizational skills with a track record of demonstrated internal and external customer service.
8. Ability and interest to work in a dynamic, potentially stressful environment.
9. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
10. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
