MC: Performance Improvement - (Full-time, Day Shift)

The Statistician is responsible for effectively promoting process improvement (PI) by ensuring accurate data collection and analysis demonstrating advanced use of statistical analysis skills to enable the delivery of improved operational, clinical or business results. Provides facilitation and education regarding PI processes. Provides support for the various PI projects and assists in the assessment of clinical and non-clinical processes for identifying opportunities for improvement and initiating project teams. Performs other duties as needed.
Master's Degree in Statistics or Public Health required. Minimum one year of previous experience in data analysis required. Six Sigma certification required within two years of employment.
Advanced use of statistical analysis skills to enable the delivery of improved operational, clinical or business results;. Extensive knowledge and experience with statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab) preferred. Strong analytical and financial skills along with familiarity with databases required. Medical terminology as indicated by department/area needs. Knowledge of statistics and their use required. Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Strong mathematical skills, able to facilitate team process with initiation of data collection process and statistical tool use. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
