Greets customers and ask if they need assistance.
Scan items and ensure pricing is correct. Take customers’ orders and answer customers’ questions.
Establish or identify prices of goods, services and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers or optical price scanners.
Process returns and check to see if items are damaged.
Return unwanted items to shelves.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
Clean up checkout area with damp cloth and disinfectant.
