Zumiez Store Operations Analyst

Reports to: Labor and Productivity Specialist/BI Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

POSITION PURPOSE

The Store Operations Analyst is responsible for designing and delivering analytic solutions for field team leadership. Through a systematic process of data collection, pattern discovery and communicating meaningful recommendations for business decision makers. The Store Operations Analyst will partner with field team leadership (remote employees) and Zumiez department specialist (Home Office employees) to solve Zumiez North Americas biggest operational challenges.

The Store Operations Analyst will prioritize:

  • Eliminate non-value processes through automation without diminishing the end user thought process
  • Empower people to make good decisions to create wins for stakeholders
  • Providing expertise through clear recommendations supported with relevant data sets
  • Delivering/schedule prompt exception-based reports

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and analyze business trends to educate decision makers
  • Execute and maintain system configurations to reach full investment potential
  • Development of standard operating procedures based on business shifts/decisions
  • Implement and manage field team dashboards & reports
  • Provide project & SOP status updates to Manager
  • Monitor profitability performance by developing and reviewing exception-based reporting tools
  • Partner with field leadership to improve results and efficiency
  • Use labor and payroll analysis tools to develop optimized store level labor goals and tools
    • Enhance store scheduling and payroll management skills through the creation and implementation of training programs and user materials
    • Gather technical issues, configuration suggestions to develop resolutions
  • Act as a liaison for Stores with other Home Office departments

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Information Systems
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with Marcos and VBA
  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to work independently
  • Experience with labor management, scheduling, workforce planning and budgeting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Retail, Hospitality or Restaurant experience preferred
  • Thrives in an environment of ambiguity with a passion for entrepreneurship/consulting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job requires individuals to work at the office location
  • Ability to sit in stationary position in an office environment for extended periods of time and work on a PC without limitations
