Job description
The SETF Strategy Manager will be primarily responsible for supporting senior management and driving projects related to strategic planning and ad hoc strategic initiatives. This role will work closely with members of the SETF leadership team across product, marketing, operations, sales, financial and HR functions and will also support communications with the JMFE Senior Leadership team.
Drive dialogue around SETF’s business strategy, culminating in the development of the Strategic Plan
- Coordinate and help facilitate both small and large working sessions with business stakeholders that drive to conclusions, agreement, and outcomes
- Build “Executive ready” deliverables; demonstrate confident and compelling communication, presentation and consensus building skills to all audiences
- Manage the annual leadership offsite meeting, including sourcing, development, and socialization of materials and facilitation of the event
- Partner with cross-functional leadership to set, track and manage progress against near-term strategic priorities
- Track and report out on SETF’s progress in meeting its objectives throughout the year (quarterly), and partner with management to provide assistance to re-align activity when needed.
- Understand interdependencies and risks for the work, identify opportunities to improve approach, and work with partners to resolve
- Participate in project roadmap development to achieve identified outcomes, balancing organizational alignment with speed, agility, and budget constraints
- Attend and engage in all Capability Team meetings, by influencing technology outcomes, sharing strategy updates, and reporting back on progress to the Strategy team
- Assist the SmartPath Product Team in roadmap execution as needed such as dealer rollouts, backlog grooming, through to execution
- Manage external partners/vendors, consolidate findings, and craft thoughtful, understandable, and insightful presentations
- Participate in development of Strategy Bytes communications to management on a monthly basis
- Manage dialog with key decision makers effectively, even when delivering tough messages, drawing on multiple influence styles.
- Clear and compelling storytelling, making the complex simple and convincing peers and executives to take action
- Strong interpersonal skills - personable yet persistent, quick to build trust and credibility
- Ownership & flexibility – comfortable driving towards results in an environment of competing priorities and ambiguity
- Questioning the status quo from a place of curiosity, and problem solving from a place of rational optimism
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical field with five years of experience preferred; MBA or advanced degree/certification a plus
- Auto finance experience a plus
- A high level of self-motivation, able to manage multiple projects with little day to day direction.
- Able to both lead and support, depending on project scope and scale
- Excellent project management skills with proven ability to drive projects forward in an organized, efficient and respectful manner
- Outstanding communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation (expert PowerPoint, strong Excel skills)
