POSITION: Student Grounds Crew - West Fargo High School
TERM: Monday - Thursday, 8:30am – 12:30pm OR 1:00pm – 4:30pm
DATES: June 5 - August 10 (Week of July 2 off for Independence Day holiday)
Students will receive a few hours each month of Career Development instruction provided by a special education teacher and/or community service provider at their respective high school on scheduled Fridays. Topics will include: Interview skills, work habits, banking, budgeting, communication skills, and responsibilities. Participation in this employment skills instruction will allow student to receive .5 elective credit for the class and completion of the work, in addition to their summer pay.
SUMMARY: Assists with general landscaping maintenance and summer focused cleaning of buildings under the direction of custodial staff or job coach. Grounds responsibilities include weeding, distributing mulch, and other tasks as needed in prepping the school grounds. Summer focused cleaning includes cleaning lockers, wiping down walls, and other needed tasks. Students will work with other team members and a job coach.
