Job Overview

The role of the Subject Matter Expert I is to provide customers with shipboard & shore systems installation support, systems sustainment support, groom support & trouble ticket support, (CONUS & OCONUS). This position reports directly to the VIDS Group in Chesapeake, VA.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Working closely with the government sponsor(s) and other contractors/subcontractors in federal facilities;
• Provide infrastructure installation and troubleshooting support.
• Implementation of infrastructure solutions.
• Provide copper and fiber termination and slicing support.
• Operation of fiber copper and wireless test equipment.
• Coordinates with manager and supervisors apprised of their progress, maintain ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned

Mandatory Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Five (5) years’ experience working in a networking/shore infrastructure environment.
• 10 years field experience.
• Experience with DoD, National, EIA/TIA and BICSI technical and OSHA safety standards.
• General knowledge of operating principles of wired, wireless and RF environments.
• Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications.
• Two (2) year contractor apprenticeship that includes at least six (6) months of formal classroom training that addressed Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray conduit and Making/Repairing Connectors.
• Must have valid driver’s license with ability to provide driving record upon request.
