Wage Information: $13.00 per hour

Work Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Job Summary: A Summer Camp Counselor provides leadership for a group of campers, ensuring a quality experience for children. Counselors will monitor and participate in all activities, including field trips, arts and crafts, sports, and games. Camp Counselors will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of program activities.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Lift items (up to 20lbs)

· Carry items (up to 20lbs)

· Must be able to communicate verbally with good voice projection

Principle Activities:

· Illustrate good manners, language, promptness, appearance, and health

· Illustrate respect and care for the facilities

· Create and maintain group unity by making everyone feel a part of the group

· Keep the safety of campers in mind at all times. Campers are never to be left unattended

· Available to work the entire camp season with little to no interruption

· Attend staff meetings and training

· Assist in maintaining and cleaning assigned areas

· Able to participate in games, sports, and physical activities

· Must be able to spend the majority of time outdoors and tolerate a variety of weather

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Previous experience working with children preferred

· Must pass a background check

Applicants must be available to attend pre-camp Counselor Training sessions and work the full 8-week camp season.
