Rocketship is hiring for the position of Summer School Office Manager which will report to the Principal. The Summer School Office Manager is the first point of contact for parents and students when they come to school, as well as a resource to the school community. The Summer School Office Manager should always exhibit professionalism, treat people with respect, and be firm but compassionate in how they address the day-to-day challenges of a rigorous and purposeful school.

The Summer School Office Manager performs specialized and responsible clerical and technical tasks related to the registration of students and maintenance of student records and files; as well as related activities of the school site and maintains student data in an automated student information system.

Essential Functions
The Summer School Office Manager performs specialized and responsible clerical and technical tasks related to the registration of students and maintenance of student records and files; as well as related activities of the school site and maintains student data in an automated student information system.

Performs enrollment and withdrawal activities within the designated google doc of student information System to ensure compliance with accurate and quality data.
Performs attendance-related functions where required to meet district, state, and federal requirements.
Maintains a variety of files, documents, and student records (physical files and electronic files within PowerSchool student information System) (e.g. permanent student record, cumulative folders for all students grades, transcripts, address changes, attendance (by assignment), discipline, etc.) to meet the division’s goal of accurate and timely student data within the student information system and student records
Compiles a variety of information/data (e.g. transcripts, health, IEP, attendance, discipline records, grades, test scores, recognition awards, etc.) to provide appropriate information required by site, district, and/or state
Processes requests for transcripts and education verificationAssists with additional appropriate tasks as assigned by the Principal and Summer School Office Manager and Student Data Coordinator to ensure an efficient and effective work environment
Attends staff meetings and training sessions as assigned to convey and/or receive information required to perform functions
Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unitCollect doctor's notes and excused absence notes from parents for absentee documentation
Work with current parents to solve problems and prevent student attritionHealth, Safety and Discipline: Maintain emergency medical and contact information for all students
Administer basic first aid, distribute medication, maintain injury reports
Be knowledgeable of all content in school safety binder, including emergency procedures
Report all injuries and other school incidents to Human ResourcesSupervise students sent to the office for discipline and health reasons
Perform general clerical duties including answering phones, taking and distributing messages, sorting mail, translate documents and prepare general correspondence
Provide support to the leadership team and teachers as necessary
Use automated telephone system to send out school information as necessary
Act as an interpreter, when necessary, in whole-school functions and smaller meetingsCollect uniform sales money from parents and provide receipts for payments

Required Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge and cultural competence of the local student and parent communityHighly developed interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
Effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects
Comfort in a start-up environment and ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to use a variety of software programs and quickly learn new ones
Managerial skills preferred
Other duties as assigned
Schedule: June 12 - Friday, July 21, 2023; Monday - Friday: 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM; 30-minute unpaid lunch; plus training during the last two weeks of school.
Rate: $6,000 stipend (6 week duration with full commitment).
This role will be managing the front office and attendance.
