Job Definition
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to gain valuable "real world" work experience? Snohomish County PUD offers challenging projects with access to experienced resources and the satisfaction of knowing you've made a difference.
The Water Department conducts two special season programs during the late the spring and summer vegetation growing season; the Fire hydrant accessibility and visibility program, and the water meter accessibility program. The Fire hydrant accessibility program entails removing vegetation from the front and a 3 foot radius around the rest of the hydrant. The hydrant, if needed, is also painted a high visibility yellow color as called out in District standards and specifications. 400 to 500 hydrants are serviced under this student worker program during a single season. During the late spring and summer growing season water meters can also become overgrown by vegetation, making it difficult for District Meter Readers to access for reading purposes. 500 to 800 water meters a year are serviced under this student worker program.
