Responsibilities:
In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient's journey by:
- Onboard and train new Medical Assistants at multiple sites and complete MA staff performance evaluations.
- Assist in the supervision of Medical Assistants and other non-licensed patient care providers as needed.
- Responsible for development of junior MA staff through instruction and education, serves as an escalation point for clarification and/or resolution for staff, patients, and physicians.
- Assign Medical Assistants to work with specific physicians according to scheduling and patient care needs.
- Create and maintain the work schedule for Medical Assistants and provide coverage for sick calls.
- Assist with MA duties as needed escorting patients to exam rooms, recording patient data prior to each visit including but not limited to vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain all necessary patient records required by the physician; verify presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam rooms, order supplies, maintain/control drug samples.
- Facilitate patient education including the distribution of educational literature and follow up instructions.
- Perform lab procedures and processing of lab specimens as needed.
- Files all labs and outside reports accurately and as needed. Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA standards and universal precautions.
- Maintain all exam room disinfection protocols. Maintains all chemo room and procedure room disinfection protocols.
- Inform physician of patient reschedules and no shows. Maintains physician's scheduling templates and other miscellaneous appointments and meetings. Assist physician with administrative and maintenance of files.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
- Seven (7) years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
- Minimum of at least two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.
- Current BLS certification or required within 3 months of hire.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in the supervision and performance management of staff.
