Dade Family Counseling CMHC, Inc. was founded in 2003 and is a full-service Community Mental Health Center licensed by the State of Florida and accredited by The Joint Commission. We treat children, adolescents and adults with mental illness, substance abuse issues and/or co-occurring disorders. We accept most insurance plans and work with most private and public insurance providers.

The following position is available: Psychosocial Rehabilitation Supervisor

Status: Part Time

Hrs/Week: 25 Hrs (Additional Hours available providing Outpatient Counseling).

Schedule: There is some flexibility, but a typical schedule might be Monday-Friday 9am-1pm and Saturday 11am-3pm.

Pay Rate: $35-$40/Hr

Requirements

  • Florida Registered Intern, or
  • Florida Licensed LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
  • Must be fully bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • Must be willing to complete an AHCA Level II Background Screening

Job Description:

The basic functions of the PSR Supervisor are to oversee a program that is based on the principles of recovery, while helping participants function in various environments with professional intervention. This position serves as the bridge between the Jail Diversion Program and Dade Family Counseling. This position oversees agency wide PSR (Youth & Adolescent) program and the Jail Diversion Program

BRIEF BREAKDOWN OF DUTIES

  • Provide supervision, consultations, guidance, crisis intervention, education, quality assurance, and in-service trainings to the PSR caseload and all staff to enable them to reach maximum potential.
  • Responsible for scheduling PSR Facilitators finding coverage when needed; if unable run PSR group
  • Maintain accurate and timely treatment records for each client, organize, update, complete, and approve PSR Facilitator intervention documentation, client treatment plans, service agreement, insurance authorizations, manage client roster, referrals, discharges, FARS documentation, and group assignments in accordance with needs and diagnoses of the patient in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and other federal and state regulations
  • Approve Facilitator documentation and staff performance in PSR groups
  • Organize group activities every month to motivate client and staff participation (client birthday celebration, holiday celebrations, raffles, or giveaways, etc.)
  • Must successfully manage and introduce intakes for PSR services to client roster with information pertaining to patient’s insurance provider, case manager, individual therapist, psychiatrist, etc.
  • Work with referral sources and insurance providers to ensure the authorization and verification of PSR services, and provide collaboration with other treatment providers as requested and released by the client
  • Complete internal referrals for Targeted Case Management, Individual Therapy, PHP, IOP, Group Psychotherapy, Substance Abuse, and Medication Management and Collaborate with clinical team members and other treatment providers as requested and released by the client.
  • Participate in department head, PSR department treatment team meetings and in-service trainings to maintain state and professional standards and certifications.
  • Manage and review timely and accurate submissions of PSR staff invoices and approve PSR adolescent staff payroll to submit for payroll
  • Supervise Roster, Unit logs and Department Activities for PSR Youth & Adolescent program
  • Supervise transportation and food coordination admin as well as fill in when needed
  • Responsible for Jail Diversion Program interactive journaling (contracts)
  • Coordination of care with court specialist
  • Attend weekly staffing held with courts
  • Generate court reports
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Supervisor is required to meet with the Clinical Director on a monthly basis to review ongoing caseloads, discuss and review specific issues with PSR Facilitators, and plan and review goals and objectives for the department. Situations in which PSR Facilitators are not following policies and procedures and/or when client issues are identified, are to be reviewed both immediately and in staff meetings. PSR records may be reviewed by the Clinical Director at any time.

SUPERVISION GIVEN

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Supervisors will meet with all PSR Facilitators on a monthly basis. Facilitators are required to meet face to face with the PSR supervisor to review group planning and have their documentation reviewed on a bi-weekly basis. Each staff member spends about 1-2 hours in supervision or staffing. Specific patients are discussed and reviewed with a licensed supervisor. Situations in which clients are not responding, ethical or illegal issues may be involved, or there is a perceived threat to the client or others, are to be reviewed both immediately and in staff meetings. Treatment records may be reviewed by the supervisor at any time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have superior knowledge of all Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Case Management, and Medicaid procedures and guidelines.
  • Must have superior knowledge of available resources in the service area for people with serious emotional disturbances.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse group of patients.
  • Must understand and follow directions from the clinical director and CEO, as well as comply with agency and county directives, state laws, licensing rules and regulations, and certification standards that cover mental health, AODA, and the chronically mentally ill.
  • Must have excellent verbal skills, essential to communicate clearly with Facilitators, clients, and other staff members.
  • Must have an overview of the spectrum of mental illness, symptomatology, psychotropic medications, and the problems presented in adjusting to child and adolescent life cycle changes.
  • Must have the ability to recognize dual diagnosis and substance abuse problems within clients.
  • Must have the ability to assess the potential for danger to clients or others and effectively communicate any concerns of safety and well-being with the client’s treatment team.
  • Must have the ability to accurately assess a crisis situation, potential for danger to client or others, to effectively coordinate with clinical team members and intervene accordingly by contacting primary physicians or practitioners.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand clinical reports and professional literature.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a mental health team.
  • Must have the ability to relate to administrative staff in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Must demonstrate ability to provide efficient facilitator training by using empathy and an ethical approach to care for clients.
