Supervisor, Production
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is a key member of the manufacturing leadership team and is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing area on the assigned shift. The Supervisor is responsible for managing production to meet specific timelines set forth by customers and the master production schedule. This includes allocating resources and working with other departments to drive solutions to operational issues. The Production Supervisor is accountable for ensuring all parts of the manufacturing area are maintained in a state of audit readiness, i.e. manufacturing rooms, washrooms, corridors, etc. The Production Supervisor is responsible for proactive planning to ensure maximum efficiency in regard to cleaning activities, changeovers, manufacturing and shift to shift handoffs. This role is responsible for building a high performing team. Preferred candidates will have significant opportunity based on performance and demonstrated leadership to be considered for progressive roles across the Winchester site. Catalent’s Winchester location is the flagship US manufacturing location for large scale oral dose forms, with integrated analytical and development services. B Shift: 6 PM-6 AM
The Role
Responsible for ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery and Costs are monitored and managed to meet site specific metrics.
Supports and develops a comprehensive continuous training program for employees on the shift.
Focuses on driving productivity improvements while maintaining high quality standards.
Drives reductions in unplanned deviations and focuses on improving first pass quality.
Ensures that labs are processing under GMP conditions and applicable SOP’s are being strictly followed.
Works collectively with Production Managers, Production, Materials, Planners, Technical Writers, Process Tech Leaders and other necessary areas to ensure timelines are met and results achieved.
Supports customer requests and onsite observation as needed.

The Candidate
Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate with 3 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
Preferred BS/ BA or MS Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or Business
Preferred 1 to 2 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing operations, engineering, logistics or quality.
Preferred to have some experience in Lean manufacturing principles and / or going through the Black Belt certification process
Manipulation of drums to and from 6-inch pallets (Drum weight <10kg. (Empty) to 150kg (max. full weight) up to 30 times per shift)
Maneuvering of drums in lab consisting of rolling, scooting, pushing and pulling (up to 80 lbs. of force)
Utilization of scoops and other hand held instruments
Lifting boxes and/or containers up to 40 lbs. (27.2 kg) from waist to chest height
Overhead lift and reach ( 15 lbs.)
Handling of finished products
Manipulation of drums to and from 6-inch pallets (up to 80 lbs. of force)
Push and pull ingredient canisters
Utilizing hand held brushes, wands, hoses, and other cleaning utensils
Overhead reach, squatting, kneeling, and forward bending
Transport of materials to and from designated lab space
Use of various job task dependent tools and work saver equipment including pallet jacks
Coordination in a laboratory setting, e.g., climbing up/down ladders or maneuvering around drums or between equipment
Operating safely in a dynamic environment which includes mobile and fixed equipment and changing conditions while completing job tasks that range from simple to complex and/or multi-tasking
