Job description
Full Time Opening - 80 hours per pay period (every two weeks)
M - F 8:00pm to 4:30pm
What are the Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements?
- Valid Michigan Driver's license with excellent driving record and the ability to drive under all types of weather conditions and permits operating hospital vehicles.
- High school graduate with the ability to read, write and speak the English language and math skills.
- Good personality and good public appearance.
- Six months courier driver experience preferred.
- Must be able to work accurately and independently.
- Must become proficient on hand-truck, pallet-jack, label gun, calculator and computer.
- Work with a "safety-oriented" attitude.
- High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to read, write and speak the English language and math skills.
- Good personality and good public appearance.
- Ability to drive under all types of weather conditions.
What are the Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities?
- Efficiently and accurately makes pick up and deliveries throughout the health care system on a regular route and also as requested by health care system departments.
- Maintains health system vehicle with regular maintenance (oil changes, fluids, etc.).
- Advises Materials Management Manager of major maintenance to health system vehicle (tires, engine, exhaust, etc.)
- The employee has the personal responsibility and accountability to adhere to all policies and procedures of TH-GH to ensure individual compliance in matters concerning privacy, confidentiality, and security of all Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of Materials Management.
- Delivers supplies to proper areas, keeping areas neat and orderly and properly labeled.
- Accurately manages the inventory in all clinical areas of the health care system, ensures zero stock outs in clinical areas, works with manager of Materials Management and Clinical Department Managers to establish and review par levels on a quarterly basis.
- Provides Copy Center functions and support for the health care system.
- Assists in labeling chargeable medical supplies.
- Responsible for assisting in maintaining stock levels in the storeroom so there will not be shortages. Assists team in rotating stock, checking dated stock and putting away stock.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly storeroom.
- Maintains and keeps up to date departmental inventories in Meditech system.
- Accuracy and timeliness in Meditech transactions to ensure inventory and transaction accuracy.
- Back up for Copy Center and USPS mail and Material Handler.

What are the Critical Demands of the Job?
- Job requires up to 6 hours of walking and standing daily.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and push at least 200 pounds on a cart is essential.
- Ability to read, speak and comprehend English is required.
- Bending, stooping, and twisting is required at least 50% of the time.
What are the Working Conditions?
- Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases.
- Conditions may be stressful at times.
- Work outside some of the time regardless of weather conditions.
- Paperwork is done in the storeroom and office where lighting is fair and room is generally warm and humid during summer months.
