Job Description

To carry out the on-site product inventory maintenance and optimization of the Supply Center (SC) and support eBusiness initiatives, the Supply Center Specialist (SCS) works closely with the Thermo Fisher Sales Team to optimize the inventory and customer experience of these onsite stocking programs to ensure continued growth of Supply Centers.


Location/Division Specific Information

Location: Remotely based out of Cambridge, MA, with daily travel that requires a reliable car (eligible for partial mileage reimbursement) to visit various site locations within and surrounding Boston. This position is not eligible for relocation benefits.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

How will you make an impact?
Working at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s largest volume and highest service level customer locations, the SCS is responsible for ongoing inventory, mix optimization, and customer satisfaction to ensure annual growth goals are met.


What will you do?

 Ensure customer's confidence and positive experiences with Supply Center inventory by maintaining accurate inventory quantity & product mix, equipment condition, and branding & merchandising standards.
 Coordinate and order inventory using preferred Supply Center Management System (SCMS) or using manual systems (e.g. physical inventory, collect daily sign-out sheets or forms, compile lists.
 Guarantee SC is stocked with proper mix of products to match constantly evolving customer needs (e.g. add, remove, and/or introduce new products as needed).
 Organize inventory and storage unit to adhere to visual/branding standards and minimize product expiration (e.g. receive and unpack stock deliveries, rotate inventory and restock using "first-in, first-out" system).
 Maintain adequate levels of corporate approved labeling, signage, and administrative materials (e.g. Supply Center branding, promotion material, sign-out sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets and Cert of Analysis).
 Maintain customer lists, reports, and records to establish informed & timely responses to customer inquiries varying in nature (e.g. spot orders, inventory updates).
 Support eBusiness initiatives by sharing account specific knowledge and enhancing key account relationships.
 Collaborate with SC team and sales account teams & managers on a regular basis (e.g. provide real-time customer and competitive intelligence, determine customer inventory requirements, and discuss process improvements to increase inventory management efficiency).
 Implement and assist with product shows, seminars, on-site promotions, and other SC affiliated events.
 Complete all required training and perform other related duties as needed/assigned, including training backfill SCS and new hires.

Education:
 High school diploma or Equivalent (GED) required, Bachelor’s degree in Biology or another scientific field preferred

Experience:
 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales, research & development, or another related field

Working Conditions:

 Required to lift up to 50 pounds
 Extensive walking/standing may be required for long periods of time
