The Montana Manufacturing Extension Center’s (MMEC) mission is to grow Montana’s economy by helping manufacturers succeed. We accomplish this goal by providing growth, innovation, efficiency, compliance and managerial assistance to Montana manufacturers for a fee. MMEC is an outreach center of the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering at Montana State University. Field Offices are in Butte, Bozeman, Billings, Helena, Great Falls, Kalispell and Missoula, and serve the entire state. This position will be based in Bozeman at our main office. Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with MMEC colleagues and partners to study and document supply chains throughout Montana.
Travel throughout the state of Montana as needed to obtain supply chain information, while representing MMEC in a professional manner.
Produce high-quality, detailed written reports that may be available to the public.
Present findings to various stakeholders.
Develop and fine-tune procedures for documenting and responding to supplier scouting requests.
Provide written responses to federal requests for supplier scouting that include several alternatives.
Track and report project progress and develop and manage third party delivery experts.
Manage and update the database or other system selected to store supply chain and supplier scouting information
Work with MMEC’s marketing team to maintain timely and accurate information on the supplier scouting web page and provide written articles for MMEC’s newsletter.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or another relevant field.
Relevant knowledge of the manufacturing industry and familiarity with the manufacturing sector in Montana.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing, including supply chain optimization, supply chain management and manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of database management, professional report writing and presentation skills.
Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Work as a productive member of a team of professionals that seeks to advance manufacturing in the State of Montana.
Identify supply chain opportunities at manufacturing facilities and then formulate multiple solutions for leveraging them, demonstrating your skills and abilities, as well as those of your team and the MEP National Network.
Be a self-starter who can work independently to identify, plan, organize, manage and execute projects.
Grow your network of partners through networking and other outreach methods (including cold calls).
Have excellent human relations skills, evidence of good judgment, flexibility and innovativeness to respond to the needs of a wide variety of clients.
Possess communication skills (oral, written and presentation) necessary to lead others and deal effectively with a diverse group of MMEC customers at all levels of the company.
