ABOUT CASCADE:
Cascade has been providing treatment services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. We currently have six treatment locations in Lewis County.
We are looking for a Supported Education and Employment (SEE) Specialist to join our New Journeys team! The New Journeys team works collaboratively with the individual experiencing psychosis as well as their family and/or other natural supports, to provide state-of-the-art treatment for first episode psychosis. As a treatment team, you have a responsibility for instilling hope in an individual’s ability to recover from a first episode of psychosis, helping them establish and work towards personally meaningful goals, and providing the best treatment available for their illness for them make progress towards the lives they want to lead.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:
- Bachelor's degree in a social/Behavioral science preferred.
- Must have at least one-year documented experience working with individuals with disabilities or one year of human service-related experience such as economical disadvantages, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, or housing.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency skills preferred but not required.
- Must be able to pass WA State Patrol and/or national background checks.
- Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the personnel office.
Pay Rates:
Below Bachelors: $16.25 - 23.67 hourly
Bachelors: $19.50 - 28.41 hourly
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Meets standards for documentation and work accuracy including timely completion of progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and authorization requests.
- Meets standards for direct service, implementation and utilization of the clinical model, quality of clinical practice and teamwork.
- Interviews individuals and, if applicable, family members or team members in the client support system to complete the strengths based vocational assessment to identify clients' skills and strengths, interests, goals, dreams, aspirations, and resources available to reach their goals.
- Counsels’ individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their vocational situations.
- Develops an employment and/or educational focused service plans based on clients' interests, abilities, strengths and needs. Service plans will have measurable goals and objectives based on the diagnosis and will specify type, frequency, intensity, and duration of service. Service plans will be client driven and follow-ups will be completed on time, assessing the quantity and quality of services provided.
- Research possible job and/or educational openings and opportunities for clients by contacting employment/school services, newspaper want ads, previous contacts, cold calling, and any other means of reaching potential employers and/or schools.
- Performs job analysis, matching potential openings with clients' needs, skills, and logistics of getting to the job site.
- Establishes and maintains connections with business offering employment opportunities.
- Sets up interviews for clients, assist clients with application, resume preparation and interviewing skills.
- Locates barriers to client employment and/or educational goals, such as inaccessible sites, inflexible schedules, finances, and transportation problems and works with clients to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers.
- Maintain close contact with clients during job and educational placements to resolve problems and evaluate placement adequacy.
- Performs interventions as needed with assigned clients previously placed who may be at risk of losing their jobs and/or education.
- Coordinates and consults with other team members to keep team informed of issues and progress.
- Counsel individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding vocational and educational rehabilitation issues
- Provides crisis intervention to clients when difficult situations occur
- Monitors and tracks employment and/or education status. Provides accurate and timely written reports. Ensures timely record maintenance of authorizations for purchase, billings, and completed releases of information.
- Continually increases level of cultural sensitivity, awareness, and competency.
- Client transportation is a required function of this position.
TRAVEL:
This program partners with Columbia Wellness in Cowlitz County, travel between Lewis County and Cowlitz Counties required. In addition to travel with clients, other Cascade facilities, and in the community.

- Medical benefits will be effective the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Must be at least a 0.75 FTE (30 hours/week) to be eligible for medical benefits. Must be at least a 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) to be eligible for dental, vision, Teladoc, and Life and AD&D.
