Jefferson Health Center City Hospital will sponsor an educational training program for Surgical Technology. If you have completed a medical personnel program, such as but not limited to, CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I / II, or SPD tech and are willing to do clinical training on site at the hospital, while completing structured educational program. Program to start 3/13/22.

Our Surgical Technologists ensure that the operating areas are sterile and clean while confirming all equipment needed works properly. What you’ll do:

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students
• CSTs assist in the following types of surgery: Orthopedics, ENT, Maxillofacial, Spine, Neuro, Hand, Cardiac, Vascular, Thoracic, Transplant, Urology, Gynecology, Plastics, and General.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check.
