Come join our Perioperative Services team in its new, state-of-the-art, 230,000 sq. ft. Outpatient Pavilion, in Arlington, VA! This new site-of-care is scheduled to open Summer 2023 and will host 6 ORs, 6 GI Rooms and 3 Procedural Rooms. As our campus expands, now is the time to get your foot in the door and grow with VHC Health! This Scrub Technician (also known as Surgical Technologist) is accountable for the technical functions related to the patient's perioperative experience. The functions of this role include preparing the OR environment, and equipment, instrumentation and supply utilization. This team member works in concert with the philosophy and goals of the department.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Virginia Board of Medicine Surgical Technologist license: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Licensed by the VA board of medicine.
• One year of scrub experience and certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and arranges sterile set-up for surgical procedures.
• Passes instruments and supplies to the operating team during surgical procedures.
• Performs initial and closing counts.
• Informs circulator of any changes in surgical progression or patient condition.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of first scrub on all basic surgical cases.
• Inspects sterile items for contamination prior to opening.
