The Surveillance Specialist is a technical surveillance technician, under direction, performs, operates, maintains and repairs technical surveillance equipment throughout Westgate Resort’s properties.
Duties
- Installs, operates, maintains and repairs technical surveillance equipment throughout the resorts and corporate offices
- Able to safely operate and work on an aerial work platform or on a ladder
- Install and terminate network cabling as needed (CAT5,CAT6)
- Conducts training of security and management staff on the use of the surveillance equipment
- Researches, evaluates, makes recommendations and provides expertise in the procurement of new equipment.
- Documents and maintains detailed records (services requests, location of equipment, updates and repairs)
- Schedules and/or coordinates services with outside vendors
- Must Participate in On-Call rotation
- Responds to on-call requests for service outages in high liability areas
- Tests and evaluates new equipment
- Catalogs and inventories equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be able to travel to sites in and out of state
- Must have a clean driving record
- May be required to work holidays and weekends
- Works directly with Resorts, Corporate Locations and Risk Management researching and providing video evidence as required
- Works closely with IT and Risk Management on video projects and investigations as needed
- Must possess necessary hand tools

Educations and/or Experience
May require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the related field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be familiar with state, federal and fire code guidelines.
Additional Information
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to upper management.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certificates in the related field is a plus.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to climb a 12 foot ladder and perform work above the technicians head while on the ladder.
