Meridian Engineering is a consulting engineering firm based in South Jordan, Utah. Meridian offers multi-discipline civil engineering and surveying services. Our surveying group is expanding and we’re seeking a well-rounded Survey Crew Chief to join our team. The position will include working with experienced professional land surveyors, survey CAD designers and survey technicians on all aspects of field surveying. Predominant types of surveying projects at Meridian include control surveys, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, right-of-way corridor surveys, and construction staking layout.

Qualifications

• Graduated or enrolled in a program with an AAS or BS in Surveying (Preferred)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Survey Crew Chief
• Must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Preference is given to local candidates

Skills & Experience

• Must understand and be able to process/reduce survey field data
• Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Be able to read and interpret civil design drawings, legal descriptions, subdivision plats, and right-of-way drawings and demonstrate survey math skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Pays attention to detail
• Be able to take direction and work independently
• Demonstrate ability to complete tasks accurately, on-time and within budget
• Knowledge of the UDOT right-of-way process, CAD standards, surveying standards and UDOT survey codes will be helpful, but not required
