Role Summary

The System Software Quality Engineer is responsible to represent the companies interests from an Engineering Quality point of view using organizationally independent reviews. Support project team with tailoring of project specific work packages, quality planning, communication of quality topics internally and externally. Support Systems and Software team using your expertise as a quality process expert in planning and tracking the preventive quality assurance measures. Provide objective and fact based evaluation of product maturity and SW quality status.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Program Quality Engineer to determine the Engineering Quality Assurance strategy within development projects.
• Analyze and ensure implementation of customer requirements.
• Identify and manage quality risks before they become issues using support from cross-functional team.
• Independently evaluate of product and process development on the road to final product maturity for project reporting.
• Participate as key member of product development team to ensure overall success of the product launch and production.
• Attend internal and external meetings, report status of quality.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, Software, Electrical Engineering or Technical equivalent or foreign equivalent.
• 3+ years’ experience in an automotive product role (design, manufacturing) working with a cross functional core team, communicate with and support customers – both internal and external.
• 1+ years of experience in project management (planning, tracking and risk management).
• 2+ years of experience: software development and software quality assurance, creating reports, generating, and tracking software quality metrics status (not number of defects).

Preferred Education/Experience

• Good understanding of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Knowledge with QAC, as well as Doors and PTC.
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and program management skills.
• Software coding knowledge and practices.
• Knowledge of process reference models (eg. ASPICE, CMMI).
• Working knowledge of quality methods (FMEA, FTA, 3x5 Why’s Ishikawa).
