TANF & GA Case Manager
OVERVIEW: Under the general supervision of the Social Services Director or HC Program Manager the TANF Case Manager is responsible for providing direct services and employment related training and life skills development services to clients eligible for Social Services programs that increase and develop client’s self- sufficiency. This position will work directly with the Social Services Director and other tribal and non- tribal staff to coordinate services to clients ensuring services remain in accordance with all policies and procedures and any regulations that govern them. The TANF Case Manager is also responsible for updating client data providing regular reports as required by Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and the various funding agencies

SALARY LEVEL: $43,680-$47,840
POSITION STATUS: Full-time, non-exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours a week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
- Manage a caseload, to include home visits, processing of support services, case manage, calculate and issue grants and data input into case management system;
- Assist TANF and GA clients in career development, job interviewing and securing livable wage jobs;
- Provide intensive job monitoring and coaching to TANF and GA clients as they seek and transition to employment;
- Track eligible clients, assess client eligibility determination, programs receiving services from, and referrals made and follow-up to other tribal and non-tribal programs;
- Ability to conduct intensive job skills workshops and related support group activities;
- Calculate accurate benefits per policy and procedures;
- Ensure all data is maintained in a CONFIDENTIAL manner at all times;
- Minimum of monthly face-to-face contact with clients;
- Establish rapport and good working relationship with Employment Security Department, On the Job Training, Department of Social and Health Services and local entrepreneurs;
- Maintain communication with other Tribal programs regarding service availability and accessibility;
- Have good customer service skills, and knowledge of interviewing techniques and principles;
- Assist clients with FAFSA on line;
- Assist potentially disabled clients with Supplemental Security Income SSI/SSA applications, which include monitoring and filing appeals as necessary, and possibly advocating in court;
- Assist client with income tax preparation;
- Assist ineligible alien TANF family members with information and referral for Immigration;
- Serve as the liaison to DSHS Child Support and work with DSHS Child Support staff to address child support issues relating to the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe;
- Provide assistance to TANF and GA clients in enrolling for food stamps and other services as an approved DSHS Washington Connections assister;
- Serve as the liaison with Eagle Sun to manage the TANF data tracking system, TAS, and obtain necessary reports and create needed updates to the system;
- Perform other related duties as assigned;
- Provide assistance to other TANF/GA Case Managers, as needed.
