Ballast Point Brewing is coming to SF! We're looking for a passionate and hardworking team to help us open our newest tasting room!

The Tasting Room Lead oversees the Ballast Point Tasting Room to ensure all tasting room operations run smoothly and all customers have their expectations met and exceeded. The Tasting Room Lead motivates and inspires, sets the bar for superior service and quality, and leads by example to create a welcoming environment. The Tasting Room Lead also ensures that our community-team members and customers-always have an exceptional experience at Ballast Point!

What you'll be doing:

• Ensure exceptional quality control of all Ballast Point products
• Own the ordering process for all tasting room necessities and inventory
• Ensure cash procedures are adhered to and strictly monitored
• Maintain Tasting Room cleanliness including beer lines, cold box inside and out, tap system appearance, restrooms, patio, and merchandise store
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers
• Arrange inventory for special events and ensure supplies are readily available to the rest of the team
• Oversee communication, placement and bar promotion for product launches and new releases on tap
• Lead site-specific Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting to Tasting Room Manager on Tasting Room performance
• Lead the communication with, de-escalation, and possible removal of problem customers in a professional manner
• Possess the ability to execute all responsibilities within the tasting room

What you'll need:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of beer serving experience
• Preferred: Cicerone certification; RBS certification (required before start date)
• Passion for craft beer!
• Working knowledge of high-volume operations and safe, responsible alcohol service required
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, empathy, problem-solving and flexibility, and a passion for meeting and interacting with people
• Highly motivated with an assertive, confident personality and servant leadership
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently
• Extensive knowledge and ability to talk fluidly about flavors and profiles of all styles of beers
• General knowledge of the brewing process
• Great judgment and professional maturity
• Administrative ability to complete company's minimal administration requirements on time
• Ability to take feedback to heart and put it into practice
• A knack for leadership and a desire to motivate, train and develop team members
• Commitment to the Ballast Point vision, brand, and community
• Strong work ethic and ability to jump in feet first
• Computer proficiency (POS systems and MS Office)
• Little to no travel is required for this position
• Full Time Position
• Schedule flexibility with nights, weekends, and holiday availability
