Job description

Anticipated initial assignment is to be in at the Royalton-Hartland Learning Center, Gasport, NY. The individual will provide services in programs of special education. The individual will provide instructional, behavioral, and clerical support under the direction of the classroom teacher to students with significant global delays including social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The individual must be able to take directives from the classroom teacher, and implement behavioral strategies under the direction of the classroom teacher and related service providers. The individual must be able to exercise patience and be a team player. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and de-escalation training are preferred. Regarding physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, requirements may include the abilities to regularly and repetitively stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull, crawl, and kneel. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change. Excellent benefits package.
