ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

KidzStuff Child Care Center is a comprehensive early learning program that offers a unique combination of nurturing care and educational structure. Our mission is to provide the best foundation for children birth to five through Christian education with a focus on closing the school readiness gap in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. Our students are encouraged to learn through hands-on experiences that cultivate socialization, creativity, cognative growth, physical strength, and emotional wellbeing. KidzStuff is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education Office of Childcare with an EXCELS level three certification. KidzStuff satisfies all required staff-to-child ratios and staffing qualifications for childcare programming. The trained staff members of KidzStuff are committed to the families and the children we serve. Because of this commitment, Kidzstuff has the highest school readiness preparation rate in Baltimore City! Our staff must be prepared to undergo a medical examination, drug testing, and a background check.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and create new, exciting experiences to share with children.

  • Support learning by providing activities and materials that children find engaging.

  • Become a learning partner to encourage children to find their own answers instead of providing the answers for them.

  • Facilitate learning, supply a developmentally appropriate environment with interesting

materials, and adequate time to explore, play, and interact.

  • Nurture children in all aspects of development: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. In every interaction, a teacher should nurture appropriate growth and development.

  • Communicate with a variety of people throughout the day; parents, children, support staff, the general public, and administrators.

  • Follow Maryland Mandated Reporting Law

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum age 21+years old

  • High school diploma or equivalent, College degree a plus

  • Strong time management skills – must complete daily logs, paperwork; lesson plans; prepare materials and environment

  • Classroom management and organization skills a must

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask

  • Must follow daily safety and cleanliness protocol, keep classroom free of potential hazardous material

  • Must have knowledge of the stages of growth to support children’s development

  • 6 Semesters, 90 clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood course work

    • 45 hours child development, 45 hours curriculum planning, 45 clock hour infant/toddler training

    • At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public

    • 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance

  • Breastfeeding certification

  • Regulation training

  • One year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting, or one year of college (30 semester hours), or a combination of experience and college that equals one year

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

  • Emergency Preparedness Certification

  • Medication Administration Certification

  • Screening Certification
