The UMN Morris - Division of the Social Sciences is seeking applications for a teaching specialist position in Political Science. This is a 9 month, 100% time position reporting to the Division of the Social Sciences.

Purpose of the position

Candidates should be prepared to teach a range of courses in political theory. The teaching load is 6 undergraduate 4-credit courses annually or the equivalent. Courses are Introduction to Political Theory, Ancient & Medieval Political Thought, and 4 additional courses of the candidate’s choice in political theory.

Job duties

• Candidates should be prepared to teach the courses mentioned above and should bring one or two other areas of interest to be used in field courses.
• Interest in and ability to contribute to the Political Science major in some meaningful way
• Must demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
