How will you make an impact?


The Shift Lead operates from established and well-known procedures under general directions and minimum supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating and procedures and guidelines. The Shift Lead has the authority to control the operation of the value stream and when vital, to the facility, and must do so in a safe manner resulting in no accidents, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Effectively communicate information to supervision and fellow personnel, relative to the condition of the facility equipment, personnel performance, and provide suggestions for problem prevention/resolution. Perform duties in such a way as to build an optimum cost-benefit ratio. The Shift Lead will drive success, safety, quality and deliver metrics through development of the shift personnel and through continuous improvement efforts by teaching, training, and leading lean manufacturing events in the support warehouse procedures.


What Will You Do?

  • Understand and train team on work instruction documents, standard operating procedures, and standard works.

  • Conducts inventory control transactions using SAP.

  • Thoroughly complete and verify cold chain tracking paperwork.

  • Participate in Practical Process Improvements (PPI), lean and continuous improvement activities including 5S.

  • Lay out daily work assignments for team and ensure goals are met.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, be prepared to showcase facility at any time.

  • Adapt to internal and external customers’ needs to create a satisfactory customer experience.

  • Communicate effectively between shifts, employees, customers, and management.

  • Lead the activities of personnel on assigned shift to accomplish daily work.

  • Assure that personnel issues or operational conditions are accurately taken care of during the shift, including, safety and medical emergencies, personnel issues, regulatory agency interaction, and technical (process) issues. Update the appropriate operations supervisor to act as needed.

  • Coordinate the activities in warehouse area(s) to meet production goals, quality requirements, and cost objectives, including but not limited, to managing the deployment of personnel across work areas and prioritizing production schedules.

  • Assist in the training of new shift personnel, as the need arises.

  • Lead the execution of special projects as assigned by operations management.


How

Education

  • High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years warehouse or GMP experience is preferred


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


  • Ability to maintain a critical level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and other similar equipment or obtain a certification through company training.

  • Exhibit good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to use computers and required software, Microsoft word/excel.

  • Ability to read and understand written materials that include words, pictures, and numbers.

  • Ability to count items, add and multiply using a calculator.

  • Possess strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Have a consistent track record of following policies, procedures, instructions, and meeting goals consistently as an individual and with the team.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced regulated warehouse environment 12 hours a day with additional overtime when necessary.

  • Ability to infrequently lift and manipulate up to 40 pounds unassisted.

  • Ability to stand and move about including standing, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and grasping.

  • Ability to use equipment- strap guns, tape guns, and some powered equipment.

  • Experience working in cGMP environment.
