SUMMARY
Provide technical advice and assistance to national, state, local and tribal health agencies and to various other organizations around evaluation capacity and programmatic improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following:
- Identifies the science base that underlies DHDSP strategies by conducting evidence reviews.
- Provides technical advice and assistance to national, state, local and tribal health agencies and to various other organizations around evaluation capacity and programmatic improvement.
- Supports data analysis work and develop specific programmatic improvement recommendations for programs and organizations.
- Plans and acts as meeting facilitator for CDC planning sessions, partner meetings, CDC leadership meetings, and leadership briefings.
- Identifies best and promising practices through partner interviews, data collection, and literature reviews.
- Develops dissemination products such as overviews, reports, or guidance documents, and disseminate findings to partners.
- Supports components of high visibility projects that support the work of AREB and/or DHDSP initiatives. This may include, but is not limited to, developing presentations and/or coordinating speakers for key DHDSP meetings, developing website text that describes DHDSP initiatives and writing success stories, etc.
- Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data and synthesize results.
- Provides evaluation technical assistance to CDC partners.
- Develops guides, manuals or technical reports for partners and public health practitioners that translate the known science to facilitate the adoption of identified strategies.
- Presents project updates or summaries at CDC briefings, or presentations to CDC staff.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory or management authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Advanced degree in a field related to health/allied sciences and 2+ yrs. of documented experience in public health, health sciences research, and/or program evaluation and performance measurement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of the CDC, federal or related public health entities.
- Working knowledge related to heart disease and stroke prevention, or management of chronic conditions is preferred.
- Skill in administering survey, conducting focus groups, and meeting facilitation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to performance quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
- Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be primarily performed in a climate-controlled office and laboratory environment.
